Care Visions Residential is Scotland’s largest independent provider of residential services for children and young people who have complex needs.

Care Visions Residential is part of the Care Visions Group which runs social care services across Scotland, England, Ireland as well as China.

Care Visions was established in 1998, with the aim of creating nurturing and homely environments which are genuinely needs led for children and young people. We have built on this effective approach and continue to expand our residential services to provide more opportunities for high quality, and innovative care to local authorities. Our goal is to help improve outcomes for children and young people in our care.

Our dedicated staff teams genuinely want to make a difference. At the heart of this we embrace and implement Sanctuary®, a model of trauma-informed care. Our approach is underpinned by the belief that children and young people can recover from trauma and loss. Our role is to help them move on to lead fulfilling lives. Our direct care supports them on their journey towards recovery.

In our residential services, we are able to work with children to help them develop positive coping strategies, regain and discover childhood experiences and develop resilience where every child is valued and their achievements are celebrated.

What We Offer

Care Visions offers an innovative and integrated approach working to provide the best outcomes for children and young people across Scotland.

Bespoke Packages

We are able to offer a range of individual bespoke packages such as:

  • Emergency / Crisis placements
  • Long term therapeutic care
  • Respite care to support families or carers
  • Short term assessment

High-Quality Staff

Every house has a core team of staff and a full-time manager. Staffing ratios are high and additional support is available at times of crisis. External managers visit services regularly and we have a fully embedded quality assurance and improvement framework across all residential services.

Continuing Care

Care Visions “Why Not?” offer support to young people who are ageing out of care to form and maintain positive relationships with adults who have supported them during their care experience with Care Visions.

Homely Environment

Our houses are located in a range of locations across Scotland and will accommodate small numbers of children and young people in comfortable care environments with dedicated staff teams to meet their individual needs. Children and young people are encouraged to participate in decisions involving the home where appropriate.

Support for Education

We offer support to placing local authorities to establish education placements for children and young people.

Framework for Practice

Our implementation of the Sanctuary® Model of trauma-informed care provides us with a shared language, shared values and a common framework through which we can work when developing individual care plans with children and young people. This framework provides a safe and non-violent environment for children, young people and staff.

Training and Development

Care Visions invest heavily in training, development and support ensuring that staff are fully equipped to provide safe and supportive care for every child or young person placed in their care. We facilitate learning opportunities for our dedicated staff teams to ensure them to reach their full potential.

Measured Outcomes

We aim to improve the life chances of those we care for by working in a meaningful way to enable each child or young person to experience growth and change. In doing so we value interdisciplinary and multi-agency work to ensure that we can collectively meet and evidence the ‘Getting It Right For Every Child’ and S.H.A.N.A.R.R.I. indicators of wellbeing.
