From Care to Confidence: Mental Health, Trauma & Resilience with Tina Copp

Tina reflects on trauma, resilience, and the moments that can change a young person’s life, from being believed in, to simply being noticed.

More About Our Guest:

Tina Copp is an experienced educator with around 30 years of working with children and young people. Over her career, she has built a strong reputation for creating engaging, inclusive learning environments that support a wide range of abilities and learning styles.

Alongside her teaching, Tina has held key pastoral roles, developing trusted relationships with students and helping them navigate both their education and personal challenges. As a Deputy Head, she led on pastoral provision, ensuring that every young person felt safe, valued and supported within the school community.

Tina has also worked as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, including training in the Brooks Traffic Light Tool. This underpins her commitment to protecting the wellbeing of children and responding effectively to any concerns.

She is particularly passionate about promoting positive mental health and reducing stigma for young people, believing that wellbeing is fundamental to success in education. Tina is also a strong advocate for inclusion, with a focus on supporting diverse and neurodiverse young people to feel respected, understood and able to thrive.

Outside of her professional life, Tina enjoys spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains. She lives with her family, two cats, and a lively flock of rescue hens.
