More About Our Guest:
Dr. Laura Steckley - Formerly a practitioner and manager in residential child care in the USA and in Scotland, Laura is a senior lecturer at The University of Strathclyde, School of Social Work and Social Policy. She leads up the MSc in Advanced Residential Child Care, and has researched and published widely on a range of subjects related to child care practice and approaches.
Along with Ruth Emond and Autumn Roesch Marsh, Laura co-authored the book A Guide to Therapeutic Child Care. This book exemplifies Laura and her colleagues’ passion for making theory and research accessible and useful to child care practitioners in meeting the needs of the children they care for.
