CV Professional Talk – Trauma Responsive Practice, Challenges and Opportunities with Richard Cross

Humphrey Hawksley sits down with Richard Cross to explore the principles and application of trauma responsive practice — an approach that goes beyond simply being “trauma-informed” to actively embedding compassion, understanding, and responsiveness into professional care. Richard shares his insights on the lasting impact of trauma on children, families, and communities, and discusses how professionals can adapt their practice to meet people where they are.

Humphrey and Richard examine the emotional demands of frontline work, the need for reflective spaces, and how organisations can create cultures that prioritise resilience, empathy, and safe, supportive relationships.
