More About Our Guest:

Professor Claire Cameron is the UK’s first Professor of Social Pedagogy, a developing field in the UK that brings together care, education and upbringing, and which has long been established across continental Europe and beyond.

Her research focuses on the lives of children and young people, particularly those growing up in disadvantaged circumstances. Her work also examines the children’s workforce. She is a member of the Thomas Coram Research Unit within the UCL Social Research Institute, where she also serves as the Department’s Study Abroad Tutor. She supervises doctoral research in social pedagogy, early childhood education, children in care and care leavers.
