Our Services

Care Visions Residential is Scotland’s largest independent provider of residential services for children and young people who are unable to live with their families.

Care Visions Residential is part of the Care Visions Group within which alongside residential child care we have a fostering service.

Care Visions was established in 1998, with the aim of creating nurturing and homely environments which are genuinely needs led for children and young people. We have built on this effective approach and continue to expand our residential services to provide more opportunities for high quality, and innovative care to local authorities. Our goal is to help improve outcomes for children and young people in our care.

Our committed teams aim to make a meaningful impact. Our Roots to Growth Practice Framework guides our work, centred on forming developing and sustaining relationships within a caring culture. This approach helps those we support have safe, positive childhoods, recover from trauma, and look forward to fulfilling lives. In our residential services, we get alongside children to help them develop positive coping strategies, reclaim their childhood, and develop a healthy relationship with the wider world.

High-Quality Staff

Every house has a core team of staff and a manager. Staffing ratios are high and additional support is available at times of crisis. External managers visit services regularly and we have a fully embedded quality assurance and improvement framework across all residential services.

Homely Environment

Our houses are located in a range of locations across Scotland and will accommodate small numbers of children and young people in comfortable care environments with dedicated staff teams to meet their individual needs. Children and young people are encouraged to participate in decisions involving the home where appropriate.

Support for Education

We offer support to placing local authorities to establish education placements for children and young people.

Framework for Practice

Our practice framework provides us with a shared language, shared ethos and a common purpose within a unifying culture of care. This informs individual care plans and interventions and day to day experiences of safe developmental care.

Learning and Development

Care Visions are committed to the support and development of everyone engaged in our community of practice. Ensuring the wellbeing of staff and so as they are equipped to offer safe and supportive care to our children and young people. The range and abundance of reflective learning opportunities available in work, and through training, optimises the potential for personal and professional growth.

"My advice to anyone who is considering a career in residential care would be to stop putting it off and go for it. My only regret is not having done it years ago."
