Mark Miller - Making a Difference, One Young Life at a Time

When Mark left the army, he never imagined his next mission would be in residential childcare. Over the years, he’d done a bit of everything; served in the forces, run his own window-cleaning business, worked in the prison service, even driven trucks. But it wasn’t until a friend suggested he apply to Care Visions that something truly clicked.

“I just love helping people,” Mark says. “In the prison service, most people were just trying to get by. But there was always that one person who genuinely wanted to change and helping them rehabilitate back into the community is what I enjoyed most.”

That same motivation to make a real, lasting difference is what drives him today. In his role with Care Visions, Mark brings empathy, humour, and structure to each day. Whether it’s supporting a young person through a tough morning, helping them discover a new hobby, or simply sitting together over breakfast, he believes the small, everyday moments are where real change begins.

“I love to help people,” he says, “and this job helps me feel I’m exactly where I belong.”

Mark’s passion for fitness and mental wellbeing spills naturally into his work. After his shifts, he heads to the gym - not just for himself, but to model self-care and consistency for the young people he supports. “It’s about showing them that even little positive habits can make a big difference,” he explains. “You don’t have to be perfect - just keep showing up.”

For Mark, Care Visions isn’t just a workplace; it’s a community, a place where every day brings a chance to connect, grow, and spark hope.

Real people. Real stories. Real impact. If you’re ready to make a difference, this is where it starts.
